friendfeed heather gray shirt with blue text....not as exciting as the plurk shirt from last month.
I've just posted this month's StartupSchwag #11 here: http://theory.isthereason.com/?p=2307
so i also wait one more month and cancel my subscription.
I'm a huge sticker fan myself, but I realized the other day that I've never used a single sticker from StartupSchwag. If it's not something I'd want to put on my laptop, I'd rather not even include it in the bags. I'm going to start sourcing one or two super nifty die cut or clear film stickers (or a button?) instead of trying to include so many different companies.
Don't get me wrong, we love and appreciate every company that has ever been kind enough to participate in the schwagging, but it's time to address the fact that we're not fulfilling what you guys want.
Getting the "other branded items" is a whole different beast, since most startups can't afford to print up that much stuff. As Roddy says below, "we're working on it," but this has definitely been the hardest demand to meet.
Regarding our latest shirts...all the feedback (that I heard, anyway) on the Pownce shirt was that it was the best one we ever sent out, and although I'm not a fan of the color of the Friendfeed shirt, it's still a service just about all our subscribers use. Part of the model (and fun) of StartupSchwag is not knowing what you're going to get, which inevitably leads to not getting your absolute favorite service each month, but we'd ideally pick companies that will be more hit than miss. Perhaps we can implement some sort of profile functionality so that we know what services you guys use the most so that we know what schwag would be most appreciated. /me sets mode #Lisa +brainstorm
I agree that there are big improvements that we can make, and I'll be dedicating some cycles to figuring out how to make StartupSchwag more valuable to a broader sample of people.
